North Korea “preparing to launch ballistic missile” as world prepares for WAR

NORTH Korea is preparing the launch of a ballistic missile, according to the Seoul military, as war tensions reach breaking point.

Mattis warns ‘total annihilation’ of North Korea is just one option

South Korea’s defence ministry said in a parliament hearing that it was still detecting signs that Pyongyang plans to stage more ballistic missile launches.

Chang Kyung-soo, a defence ministry official, said: “We have continued to see signs of possibly more ballistic missile launches. We also forecast North Korea could fire an intercontinental ballistic missile.”

Seoul’s spy agency believes any missiles will be fired towards the North Pacific, which could have a devastating impact on North Korea’s regional neighbours.

Meanwhile the country’s defence ministry has confirmed that Seoul now believes it is time to strengthen the country’s military response against North Korea, suggesting the time for talks is now over.

North Korea is reportedly preparing further tests amid soaring international tensions

In response to the test, South Korea conducted live-fire drills simulating an attack on its neighbour to “strongly warn” the North that their repeated threats will not be tolerated.

Pyongyang claimed that Sunday’s detonation, which the South measured at 50 kilotons, was the test of a hydrogen bomb.

US defence secretary Jim Mattis hit back, saying the US will answer any threat from the North with a “massive military response – a response both effective and overwhelming”.

President Trump tweeted to confirm he expects to meet with General Mattis later today along with other senior members of his administration to work out a strategy to resolve the North Korea issue.

“South Korea is finding, as I have told them, that their talk of appeasement with North Korea will not work, they only understand one thing!
