Amazing Story of How ‘Daddy G.O’Adeboye Couldn’t Afford A Wedding Ring in 1967

While the frenzy and mixed reactions over the surprise announcement of the retirement of Redeemed Christian Church of God general overseer, Enoch Adejare Adeboye is still very much in the air, Celeb Police investigations brings you a report of the amazing love story of the man many call Daddy G.O and why he doesn’t wear a wedding ring.

The close relationship between pastor Adeboye and his wife, Foluke, aka Mummy G.O, dates back to their traditional marriage in 1965. But what many may not know is the fact that it took two years for them to have a church wedding later in December 1967. Does that translate to marrying same person twice? Debate. Perhaps the most interesting part of his love story is that young brother Adeboye couldn’t afford a weddig ring at the time and when he finally had the means he decided not to buy one! That explains why the revered man of God doesn’t wear a wedding ring. According to him, since he couldn’t afford a wedding ring then, he promised his wife later that she would never lack anything and has since kept that promise. Interestingly too, Adeboye instructed his son to follow suit.

The retiring man of God has been in the news lately for the unusual reasons. First was the controversy that trailed his pronouncements on wife material late last year where he reportedly advised young brothers not to marry a lady who couldn’t pray for one hour in a day. And then the more recent brouhaha over his ‘political’ prayer for Ekiti state governor, Ayo Fayose, over which some conspiracy theories are saying could be a reason why he was pressured to retire. Whatever the conclusions are, Adeboye’s time in the sun has certainly had its many sides. And this ‘ringless’ dimension to his bio makes his story more beautiful.

From Ekovibez to the ‘calm and humble Man of God’, it’s happy retirement!
